The Many Meanings of Quality in Healthcare: Conference announcement, call for abstracts

We would like to draw your attention to our forthcoming conference to be held at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor, on Tuesday 4th June 2013, entitled "The Many Meanings of 'Quality' in Healthcare".
We are inviting submissions of abstracts for oral presentations and posters based on research, and also art/artefacts, reflective and creative writing.

We are particularly interested in submissions that focus on the following conference themes. We are also inviting papers which explore how these themes interact - the tensions and synergies between them:
  • Professionals and patients: collaboration and communication in delivering quality health care
  • Improving quality of care: management, governance, standards and accountability
  • Professional values and their relationship to quality in healthcare

Our speakers are Dr Iona Heath, Dr Jocelyn Cornwell, and Professor Trisha Greenhalgh, and the conference will culminate in a public lecture given by Dr Havi Carel.

Further details of the conference and the abstract submission form can be
found on the Cumberland Lodge website at:

A conference poster can also be found here:

Registration for the conference is now open. A limited number of student bursaries are available.

We would be grateful if you would forward this information to any of your colleagues who might be interested in attending.
