We would like to invite colleagues to submit abstracts (deadline 31.3.14) for oral presentations at the first one day symposium of the BSA Applied Qualitative Health Research Special Interest group, Newcastle 14.5.14

Keynote speaker Professor Carl May, University of Southampton "Applied Qualitative Research in Healthcare: What can we do with it?"

The aims of the AQHR Group are to:
  • Provide a forum for medical sociologists to discuss the practical experiences and challenges of undertaking AQHR.
  • Share experiences, resources, and good practice in relation to collaborative working and teaching/training others to conduct AQHR.
  • Establish a network of volunteer 'virtual peer-mentors' to provide support and advice

We hope the day will provide a supportive and friendly environment for people to share experiences and best practice in AQHR, and we will use this meeting as an opportunity to formally establish our mentoring scheme.

Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words and clearly state you name and institutional affiliation
Please submit abstracts by 31.3.14 at the latest to Ms Alison Etherington Alison.etherington@ncl.ac.uk

We particularly encourage postgraduate researchers and early career researchers to consider presenting their work.
