Senior Research Lead Post, Health Experiences Research Group Oxford

An exciting new opportunity has been created for an outstanding researcher to share management responsibility, with the senior team, for setting the goals and managing the resources, performance and development of the Health Experiences Research Group (HERG).

Grade 9: £42,883 - £49,689 with a discretionary range to £54,283 p.a.

The Health Experiences Research Group conducts qualitative interview studies which are published on thewww.healthtalkonline.org<http://www.healthtalkonline.org/> and www.youthhealthtalk.org<http://www.youthhealthtalk.org/> websites, as well as in clinical and social science journals. The multimedia website links analysis and hundreds of video, audio and written extracts from interviews about people's experiences of health and illness. The Health Experiences Research Group in the University collaborates closely with the DIPEx charity, which owns the website.

The new post will take a leading role in the group, working closely with Research Director Sue Ziebland, and have a significant role in strategic planning for the group, supervising research staff at a variety of levels and helping to maintain the group's research funding and publication record.

You will have a PhD in a social science (or equivalent experience) a national reputation for qualitative research and an excellent record of publications in international peer reviewed journals. You will also have a strong record of attracting major research funding and leading and managing qualitative research projects.

The post is funded at 80% of full-time for 2 years in the first instance; or full-time with a pro-rata reduction in contract length. The applicant will be encouraged to generate research grant income to support an extension of the contract.
