RN 1 in Turin

We are delighted that the programme of the 11th European Sociological Association┬┤s conference in Turin (August 28th-31st) is now available:

Please also find a timetable as an overview of the RN1 sessions on our homepage:

We want to thank everyone who is going to present at this meeting. Our RN sessions have a strong tradition of stimulating, engaging and collegial discussion, and we hugely look forward to meeting in Turin. We especially want to thank Julia Hahmann for the enormous support in setting up this programme, and of course the whole team in Italy!

Please come to our Business Meeting on Thursday 29th, at 7:30 pm. ESA rules stipulate that the Board must be elected at the conference in Turin. If you're ESA member in good standing and formal member of our Research Network you are welcome to stand as a candidate for Chair or as a Board member. Please contact us if you wish to do either. Also, don't hesitate to spread this call for candidates among interested colleagues.

During the business meeting, we shall be serving some wine & cheese for the launch of "Old Age In Europe: A Textbook of Gerontology" edited by Kathrin Komp and Marja Aartsen. Contributors include many long-serving supporters of our RN, and the launch will be performed by Sara Arber.

We would like to take this opportunity to urge as many people as possible to join the RN on Ageing, either now, via the ESA website (www.europeansociology.org/membership_rn_affiliation), or in Turin.
It's true that this costs ten euro over and above your ESA membership, but it encourages the ESA to support us further and adds to the funds we have available for inter-Conference meetings and other projects. Thank you for your support!

We are greatly looking forward to meeting you at the conference!
