Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Sociology/Criminology

A rare opportunity to combine cutting-edge teaching with cutting-edge research.

The Role
Kent is one of only a handful UK universities to be awarded a prestigious Nuffield Foundation/ESRC/Hefce ‘Q-Step’ grant to take quantitative social science teaching to new levels. We are investing over £2m in creative and inspiring teaching across the social sciences, and we are looking for new staff members to help build this alongside our existing team. Equally importantly, we are looking for excellence and ambition in research, and will provide both sufficient time and a thriving research environment to support this.

The Person
We are looking for a candidate who fits any area of SSPSSR’s broad interests, although we are particularly keen to encourage applications from those working in Sociology or Criminology. You will have (or be developing) a track record of research excellence, and be a passionate teacher, an excellent communicator of quantitative methods and research, comfortable working in teams, and have excellent networking/communication skills. Please refer to the job description for the full person specification.
